Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition ( ARD ) is a special pre-trial intervention program at the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, United States for nonviolent offenders with no prior or limited records.

The main objective of the program is to rehabilitate offenders and the second is the rapid burden of charges, eliminating the need for costly and time-consuming courts or other court proceedings. As such, Defendants are generally required to waive certain constitutional rights in exchange for consideration of their case for ARI. The objective of the program is to intervene at an early stage, so steps can be taken to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Candidates received under this program are strictly screened by the district attorney's office. In order to be accepted into the ARD program, the defendant must agree on certain conditions such as restitution or completion of substance abuse treatment. While in the ARD program, the defendant was placed under surveillance, similar to probation. They can also be ordered to do community service.

The defendant does not have to admit any wrongdoing while filing the ARD, but must plead guilty to any offense, usually a motor vehicle code violation. Courts may charge fees and appraisals, but not penalties. About 90% of people in the ARD program have been arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol or controlled substances.

The maximum period of supervision for a person affected by ARD is two years. Upon successful completion of the program, ARD actors can petition to court to have their charges terminated and cases removed. If the offender is not in accordance with the conditions of the program, he/she may be removed from the program and the case will be re-placed in the trial list.
