Famous cases

On January 11, 2010, Krieger denied a new hearing for the confidence of former Qwest executive Joseph Nacchio in 2007 over alleged insider trading. Nacchio's legal team claims that the testimony of former Chief Financial Officer Qwest Robin Szeliga provides in a civil suit related to this case is different from the testimony given in a criminal trial. Krieger forbade the request on the grounds that testimony in civil proceedings is not much different from a criminal trial and that minor differences are unlikely to result in a waiver.

In order of April 20, 2018, Krieger rejected a request to return a jailed transgender woman, Lindsay Saunders-Velez, back to her cell after her lawyers argued that the "punishment box" assigned to her after minor infractions put some men. the prisoner who tortured him before. Krieger said that lawyers are not shown to be at risk of "an imminent and irreparable injury". A few hours after the judge issued his decision, Saunders-Velez was allegedly raped. She was taken to the hospital with rectal and other injuries. A nurse there noted that the alleged rapist may be HIV positive.
