The Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) is a state agency that regulates real estate practices in the state of Texas. The agency is headquartered at 1700 North Congresses in Austin.

The TREC consists of nine members appointed by the Governor with the approval of the Texas Senate. Members are appointed for a term of six years, provided that the three members terminate every two years. Six members must be licensed real estate brokers who have been involved in the real estate brokerage business as their primary job for at least five years before their appointment. The three members shall be members of the general public who are not governed by the Commission or employed by organizations governed by or receive funds from the Commission.
