Robert Marlowe AmparÃÆ'¡n is an American criminal defense lawyer currently living in San Francisco, California. He became famous for successfully defending former assassin JonBenÃÆ'Â t Ramsey, John Mark Karr, along with lawyers Gayle Gutekunst and Ben Prince, in his legal battle with the state of California on charges of child pornography. After a series of defensive movements, the case was eventually dismissed.

John Mark Karr
In August 2006, an American teacher living abroad named John Mark Karr confessed wrongly about the unsolved murder of JonBenÃÆ' Â © t Ramsey, creating a media frenzy. Ramsey was found beaten and strangled in the basement of his family's home in Boulder, Colorado, in 1996. Karr said he was present when Ramsey died and called his death an "accident". Karr was arrested in Bangkok, Thailand, on 16 August 2006, by Thai authorities, then released to US agents and flown first to Los Angeles, California, then to Boulder for further investigation. On August 28, prosecutors announced that they had decided not to pursue charges related to murder after DNA tests failed to put Karr at the scene. Karr was held in Boulder until 12 September 2006, when he was transported to Sonoma County, California to face charges of child pornography unrelated to crime. Mr. AmparÃÆ'¡n agrees to represent it. On 20 September 2006 Amparna was quoted as saying Karr that she was "South Male with a sense of humor." The case was dismissed on 5 October 2006.
